Ibiza Majorca - Discover the beautiful Balearics!

East of the Spanish peninsula, in the Mediterranean Sea, lays a holiday paradise formed by four beautiful Islands called the Balearics. Majorca is the largest of the four main Islands. It’s situated between the smaller Menorca in the North and Ibiza in the South. South of Ibiza lays the even smaller and lesser-known Formentera. The Balearic islands have a population of almost 800.000 inhabitants. The surfaces of the islands vary from 100 square meters for Formentera to 3.640 square meters for Majorca. Ibiza and Menorca are respectively 541 and 690 square meters.

Ibiza, Formentera, Majorca and Menorca maintain a character distinct from the rest of Spain and from each other. Because of historical and international influences, the islands developed their own specific culture, kitchen and dialects. The natural beauty of the Balearic beaches but also in the hinterland is astonishing.

Ibiza, firmly established among Europe’s trendiest resorts, is wholly unique, with an intense, outrageous street life and a floating summer population. Ibiza is a very tolerant and cosmopolitan place where you can have a great time in the many clubs. Formentera is Ibiza’s smaller companion, and only accessible by boat. It's a perfect destination for a relaxing day trip, since tradition and natural beauty on this Island are still untouched by tourism.

Majorca, the largest and best-known Balearic, battles with its image, popularly reckoned as little more than sun, party and high-rise hotels. In reality you’ll find all the clichés, most of them crammed into the mega-resorts of the Bay of Palma and the east coast, but there’s lots more besides: mountains, lovely old towns, some beautiful coves and the Balearics’ one real city, Palma. Majorca is in fact the one island in the group you might come to other than for beaches and nightlife, with scope to walk, travel and explore the varied landscapes and small villages. And finally, to the east, there’s Menorca: more subdued in its clientele, and here, at least, the grim modern resorts are kept at a safe distance from the two main towns, the capital Maó, and the highly scenic, pocket-sized port of Ciutadella.

Discover all the beauty and liveliness that the Balearic Islands have to offer. Welcome to Majorca and Ibiza!
